Sweet Clo
It's been a while. I have a backlog of photos waiting to be posted but first I wanted to post this photo of Clo in her spiffy new glasses. The glasses aren't so new anymore this this photo since I took this photo many weeks ago.

Jessica Jones
Well, since I'm not posting my own photography on this site, I might as well post someone else's.

Gogo
These pictures could not have been taking in a worst location with the sun at the back. We were out for a walk and taking pictures and this elderly resident of Gugulethu, a township in Cape Town, wanted to know what we were doing with the pictures. I told her it's just for us and we might show our friends. She wanted to know what I'll do with a picture of her and I told her that I would show my friends how beautiful she is. She let me take her picture and I jokingly told her that I'm going to put it in a magazine and she was very insistent that I mustn't. After all this I didn't want to ask her to move. I was quite pleasantly surprised that she wasn't completed silhouetted and that the sun didn't blow out her entire face and actually quite like the overall effect of this imperfect shot.

Soccer Madness
So daily posting is not going to work out but I'll try and post as often as I can. At a loss as to where to watch the South Africa vs Mexico game we actually ventured into Long Street but since I don't function that well most of my shots were unusable. Every place in Long Street being packed we ended up heading back to Woodstock to watch the game at the best venue for the World Cup: The Adidas Three Stories Pop-up Store. I will be spending a lot more time at this temporary venue and more photos are to follow.

Off day
So, between forgetting my camera at home and upon returning home realising that I forgot my SD card at work and having to deal with soccer mad traffic, I was in no mood to photograph.
Have a photo of the hanging flowers in the Amsterdam Flower Market.

Intro
In an effort to improve my photography I've decided to to take photos daily and post them on this blog. A daily photo won't always be possible and those days that it's not possible to post (read too drunk/hungover to operate a camera) I will post something previously taken.
Why The F Number? If you're privileged enough to have kept company with me you will know that The F Word features quite prominently in my vocab. The F Number also refers to the aperture (lens) opening on a camera and my preferred method of shooting, aperture priority, where you can choose the size of the lens opening.
Here's my first batch of pictures taken last night at A Touch of Madness in Observatory which is a veritable treasure chest for a photographer. I had quite a bit of success (and some failures) with low light photography. The photographs were taken in manual mode with a slow shutter speed and wide aperture, with/without flash and a high ISO.
